2009 Program and Abstracts

JAMA and the BMJ Held The Sixth International Congress on Peer Review and Biomedical Publication September 10-12, 2009 Vancouver, BC, Canada

On behalf of JAMA and the BMJ, we thank all who participated in the Sixth International Congress on Peer Review and Biomedical Publication.

There were 424 attendees from 32 countries, and 46 research presentations from the podium and 64 poster presentations. Preliminary abstracts are available from the links below. As full papers are published, links to the articles will be added.

During the Congress, 46 reports of new research were presented in plenary sessions and 64 posters were presented. Research topics included: authorship; conflicts of interest; journal guidelines and policies; ethical concerns; peer review process; funding/grant review; publication bias; rhetoric and spin; effects of journal indexing, open access, the Web/Internet, and impact factor, and trial registration; retractions; publication pathways; quality of journal articles; and the quality of reporting of research and clinical trials.
